YOUNG WORLD FACES
Mission Statement
“YOUNG WORLD FACES is a transformational movement exemplified through my contemporary photography and experiential activations.
I created these images to inspire the revelation of human stories that help citizens of every nation recognize, not only their own beauty but our global commonality.
YOUNG WORLD FACES endeavours to set a new standard for human acceptance by highlighting our similarities in an attempt to achieve the mutually beneficial goal of eradicating war, injustice, prejudice, and negativity, all derived from our incorrectly perceived differences.” - Robert Young

*Note: All images in this series are photographic portraits of individual women, each native to the land she is representing. Their faces were first painted, then carefully lit and photographed, with the final image made print-ready in post.

Born Again En Medellín

Excerpt from the Travelogue:
"....the plane that would deliver me to my final destination to reignite my life, Flight 41 was also a number that nearly ended it. It represented the 41 Nations and Territories that were celebrated in the largest installation of my work to that date. The same work whose opening reception lifted me to the greatest triumph of my life, as it fell on my Mother's birthday. She would suddenly and unexpectedly fall asleep, never to awaken again, exactly 14 days later. Now, nearly three years later, as I sit in my rented accommodations staring out into the mountainside and streets of Medellín, I wonder what it means to have been brought to Colombia on Flight 41 just a few short days before my mother's birthday. It seems there are no coincidences in the universe. I guess that is what I’m here to discover; what do they mean, if anything at all." - Robert Young
